Edify EdTech Exhibition 2025: A Celebration of Innovation, Collaboration, and Christian Values

On Wednesday, 24th September 2025, Edify Uganda successfully hosted the inaugural Edify EdTech Exhibition at the National ICT Innovation Hub, Nakawa – Kampala. The event brought together learners, teachers, administrators, and partners in a day full of innovation, learning, and celebration.

A Superb Turnout

All the 20 shortlisted finalist schools turned up with at least three student exhibitors and two teachers, while most of the other 80 participating schools also sent representatives to witness and learn. Guests started arriving as early as 7:00 am and were warmly welcomed by a dedicated ushering team from Edify partners.

At the registration desk, each guest received a colorful exhibition magazine containing:

  • An overview of Edify’s mission and roadmap of EdTech activities.
  • Highlights from the mentorship sessions.
  • A profile of the 20 finalist schools and their projects.
  • The judging rubric to be used by the adjudicators.

After registration, guests enjoyed a hearty breakfast before converging in the main exhibition hall to kick off the day.

Official Opening

By 9:00 am, the hall was filled with energy as Mr. Wogisha Denis Kruger (Sharebility) emceed the opening session. The event was officially launched with a warm welcome and introduction from Mr. Josephats Mbaziira, Edify Country Director, who reminded schools that this was more than a competition — it was a platform to showcase creativity anchored in Christian values.

Exhibitions Begin

The first presentation came from Joy Centre for Education, Lugazi. Each school was allocated 6 minutes to pitch their project, followed by questions from adjudicators or the audience.

From apps solving community challenges to school websites, robotics solutions, and digital content projects, learners displayed outstanding creativity and technical skill. By 2:00 pm, all 20 schools had successfully presented their innovations.

The Typing Challenge

After lunch (2:00–3:00 pm), attention shifted to the much-anticipated Typing Challenge. Students amazed the audience with their accuracy and speed.

  • Exercise 1: Typing a 150-word story in 2 minutes to test speed.
  • Exercise 2: Typing 5 words blindfolded to test accuracy.

Winners emerged in both primary and secondary school categories, with Katikamu SDA Secondary School taking home the crown as the Edify Typist of the Year 2025.

Guest of Honour’s Address

At 4:00 pm, the Guest of Honour, Hon. Monica Among, delivered a stirring keynote address. She expressed gratitude to Edify for uplifting Ugandan education and challenged learners to rise with courage, creativity, and Christ-like values.

Quoting Romans 8:19, she emphasized that:

“As tech is transforming classrooms into dynamic spaces of Creativity and Innovation, Students are no longer just consumers of knowledge but creators of solutions addressing challenges within their schools and communities.”
